New Balance-skater Linda de Vries is back at the top. The allround skater had a difficult Olympic season, but appears to be back after a strong third place at the National Championships Allround.
Linda de Vries moved this winter from the stopped TVM team to the team from New Balance. A new step in the skating career of De Vries, with already a nice success at the nationals. "I'm very happy with this result. My three kilometres could have been better, but the five kilometres was again very good. Also my podium finish at the fifteen hundred meters was a really nice result for me the past weekend."
However De Vries does not want to talk about being back. "The last two years the level of speedskating increased a lot. I still skated good, but I could not keep up with the really high level. Then you immediately not good enough anymore in the Netherlands a second place I not good enough for the Dutch people. "After a stable tournament with four good distances De Vries is back at the top and will compete next week at the European championship allround in Chelyabinsk. "It's been a while since I skated such a big tournament. The last time was here in Heerenveen. I am really looking forward to it"
