The World Championships Inline-Skaten have started yesterday and at the moment the second day is already running. On this first day the first eight world titles of this tournament were won. Three of the gold medals went to countries that carried the skatingsuits of Huntersportswear. Jason Suttels from Belgium won the points / eliminationrace at the juniors. Mareike Thum from Germany and Gwendal Le Pivert from France crowned themselves as the new world champions on the thousand meters.
The best inline skaters of the world have gathered this week in Heerde and Arnhem for the world's largest world championships in the Netherlands. Countries like Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Egypt, Poland and Portugal are doing that in suits from Huntersportswear.
Belgian Jason Suttels added a very strong performance next to the gold medal. Suttels held a total of 11 points during and this was enough for the first world title of his career. He did that by initially riding very easy, but he finish really strong. In the last six rounds he took all points and took over the lead from the strong Colombian skaters.
The thousand meters was surprisingly won by German Mareike Thum. Thum already became world champion on the relay, but never ever individual. Clearly moved after her title, she was celebrating he victory with the German spectators. Frenchmen Gweldal Le Pivert won de gold on the thousand in the senior men.
