Irene Schoutens wins 60km Hallum
Irene Schouten wrote the ONK over 60 kilometers in the city of Hallum on her name. Schouten displayed an impressive shape and left the competition far behind.
This year  in Hallum was started in a so-called mass-start. A contest where everyone starts at the same time, but is positioned separately in the results. Irene Schouten was the only lady for a while in front of the mens race and found later a strong group of top skaters from the Dutch men's squad. None of the women could stay nearby from the inconvenient North Holland. Sisters Janita and Gerline Crediet completed the podium with the fourten fift place.
With the men a tense battle between Crispijn Ariëns and Belgian Bart Swings of World Team Powerslide. In a thrilling sprint, Ariêns reached the longest end and won. Swings became second, Ingmar Berga third.
